Dd-wrt has the facility to use an openvpn client but I don’t really want to send all my traffic overseas just for the few instances I need to redirect my traffic. As an American living in the UK, most things are pretty similar but one thing that grates on me is the ‘big brother’ government.

On the router, I have the open VPN client configured and working, (if I ssh into the router I can ping our main office network, 192.168.0.x) However, from the clients behind the dd-wrt router, (192.168.1.x) they cannot DD-WRT is a custom firmware for routers, it offers OpenVPN protocol support and is available on a wide variety of routers. You can check if your router supports DD-WRT firmware here. An article on how to install DD-WRT firmware on a router can be found here.
