If the user authentication fails on the Mobile VPN with SSL-specific authentication page, but the same credentials worked on the WatchGuard Authentication Portal page, the issue is almost certainly group membership. Confirm that the user is part of the configured group for Mobile VPN with SSL. By default, this group is SSLVPN-Users.
The most common cause for failed authentication is an incorrect password, likely caused by a typing mistake. The user name may be incorrect. Check that you have typed it correctly. Solved: SSL VPN password change / notification - Cisco (Side note: I tried to configure the ASA to use LDAP as normal Authentication and then the ACS as Authorization, but it failed, first off because the ASA started to use PAP/ASCII against the ACS and even if I allowed that, it seemed like the ASA wasn’t parsing the users password onwards, with the result that ACS failed and the user account
