This will remove just the openvpn package itself. Uninstall openvpn and its dependencies sudo apt-get remove --auto-remove openvpn. This will remove the openvpn package and any other dependant packages which are no longer needed. Purging your config/data too. So i noticed when i first installed Ubuntu that it had a VPN section in my network settings from the beginning. Is OpenVPN just part of the system?
